Mangaluru: Since the lockdown restrictions have been relaxed to a certain extent, Campco has decided to purchase areca nut from farmers without any limit.
Campco president S R Satishchandra, in a press release, informed that as the lockdown has been relaxed, the organisation is moving towards normalcy in purchases.
Henceforth, there will be regular purchases of the white variety of areca nut at all branches on all days without any limit on purchases and without the token system from May 6.
Meanwhile, purchase of the red variety of areca nut will commence in all regions from May 11.
The press release also informed that pepper purchases too will commence in the Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts and even in Kerala from May 11.
The Campco president thanked all the farmers for their cooperation in observing the norms of the lockdown.
