Mangaluru: A bullet tanker filled with liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) turned turtle on National Highway 75 near Maroli at around 3 PM on Saturday, January 19.

According to the sources, bullet tanker was plying from Panambur to Bengaluru. When it reached near Maroli, the driver of the tanker lost control over his vehicle while negotiating a curve. As the result, tanker turned turtle and the driver escaped with minor injuries.

The accident broke the safety valve of the tanker leading to heavy leakage of gas. Meanwhile, the Kankanady Town Police rushed to the spot and they summoned fire tenders to the spot to prevent any untoward incidents. The operation to fix the leakage of the gas was underway when reports last came in. More details are awaited.
