Body of Bantwal youth washed away in Bhadra river found at Haluvalli

Bantwal/Mudigere: Nearly a fortnight after having been swept away in the waters of Bhadra river, the body of the 26-year-old engineer was found at Haluvalli on Thursday, August 9.

The youth, Kiran Kotyan, a Bantwal native was employed with MCF. On July 26, Kiran who had arrived at Ambateertha near Kalasa in Mudigere taluk along with few of his colleagues. Later, while clicking pictures at the picnic spot Kiran fell into the river having slipped from a rock. Despite a search operation that lasted for several days, the team consisting of NDRF personnel and locals were unable to trace Kiran’s body.

On Thursday, August 9 the Kalasa police received a call from a Srinivas, a resident of Haluvalli who informed them about a body floating in the river near the village. The police immediately rushed to the spot and managed to recover the body from near Magundi Bridge here with the aid of expert swimmer Bhaskar.
