Mangaluru: In response to the widespread speculation that the BJP will be attempting a coup, MLC Ivan D’Souza assured that their deliberate attempt to destabilise the coalition government will not fetch any positive results. He also said that any MLA from either the Congress or the JDS would not leave their respective party at any cost.
Referring to the “resort politics” being played by the BJP and its ‘Operation Lotus’, Ivan D’Souza said, on Tuesday, January 15, that over 84 BJP MLAs are camping at a resort in Mumbai and are trying to lure the Congress and JDS MLAs, in a bid to topple the government. Even though the elected representatives should be in their constituencies, addressing the grievances of their constituents, they are instead attempting to topple the government, he lamented.
Ivan also assured that the BJP would not succeed in its effort to topple the government. After the coalition government came to power in Karnataka, the BJP made several deliberate attempts to destabilise the government. However, they have failed in their attempts and this time also, they will not succeed, he added.
“Though a few MLAs are dissatisfied over some issues, they will be convinced after holding meeting within our party. However, they will not detach from the party and will continue to show their support”, he said with confidence.
