Mangaluru: As the counting process for the Urban Local Body(ULB) elections began on Monday, September 3, The Bharatiya Janata Party swept the Puttur City Municipal Council by securing 25 seats out of 31 seats. The Congress has secured 5 seats and a single seat has been won by the SDPI.
In Ullal City Municipal Council election result turned into split verdict as no political party gained majority to form the administration. The Congress has secured 13 seats out of 31 seats. The BJP has managed to secure 6 seats, whereas the SDPI too secured 6 seats, the JD(S) took 4 seats to its fold and two seats have been won by the Independent candidates. Though the Congress has secured the highest seats in Ullal Municipal Council, it has no majority to form the administration.
The voters, even in Bantwal Town Municipal Elections have given a split verdict without giving a majority to form the rule in Town Municipal Council. Out of 27 seats in Bantwal Town Municipal, the Congress has secured 12 seats and the BJP has secured 11 seats and the SDPI have managed to secure 4 seats.
