Mangaluru: “BJP leaders have been trying to use the surgical strike by the Indian Air Force (IAF) for political gains, but it would not yield any positive benefit for them”, informed former chief minister Siddaramaiah on Sunday, March 10.

Speaking to the reporters at the Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) Siddaramaiah said that it is not the first time that India struck Pakistan. “When Indira Gandhi was the prime minister of our country, she took a courageous decision and defeated Pakistan in the year 1971, due to which Bangladesh got independence. Home Minister Rajnath Singh’s recent statement on surgical strike is only for the sake of getting political mileage,” he said.

Prior to attending ‘Parivarthana Rally’ at Udupi, Siddaramaiah had been to Polali Rajarajeshwari temple and offered prayers. Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president Dinesh Gundu Rao, district in-charge Minister U T Khader among others were present
