Mangaluru: Moments before Rahul Gandhi touched down here to hold rallies in Uttara Kannada district, BJP National Spokesperson Sambit Patra posed 10 questions to the AICC president on April 26.
Addressing a press meet at Dakshina Kannada BJP office, Sambit Patra termed that the assembly elections in Karnataka was between the BJP’s development versus lies of Congress.
Sambit Patra also demanded answers to 10 questions from Rahul Gandhi. He asked the following questions:
“1. Why is the Congress government in Karnataka so apathetic towards the farmers condition? Under the Congress government ruled by Siddaramaiah, Karnataka has become the epicenter of farmers’ suicide? In the last five years, under Siddaramaiah’s government, nearly 3781 farmers have committed suicide in the state.
2.Why the farmers of Dakshina Kannada were lathi-charged, when they attended agitation in Bengaluru against atrocities that they were facing? Will Rahul Gandhi apologise for the atrocities on farmers? Is it not true that Congress has institutionalised corruption in farming, irrigation and looted the treasury because of their ill-formed schemes in the state?
3. Is it not true that out of the 176 drought-hit taluks, 160 taluks of Karnataka faced severe drought in 2017? The central government has given Rs 5456 Crore to Karnataka’s irrigation sector but the Siddaramaiah government has not spent a single paisa. Where did the money given by the Modi government vanish?
4. Since you wanted to ease the traffic flow, specially in North Bengaluru on the Bellari Road, the Hebbal steel flyover was done away with. Because of your own corruption the money has gone from the taxpayers of Karnataka. Did you conceptualise an alternate for that? If not, then why?
5. Why is that Sakala project, a grievance redressal system started by the BJP government in Karnataka in 2012 was done away with? Why is that Mallikarjuna Kharge is not attending the meetings of Lokpal? Isn’t the Congress party responsible for non-appointment of Lokpal?
6. Rahul Gandhi has criticized the programmes like Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao Andolan of Narendra Modi. During the rule of Congress government in Karnataka, 800 plus girls belonging to the Dalit community have been raped. Several women were murdered during the rule of Congress in the state and 3857 sexual assault cases have been registered under Congress government in the state. Why hasn’t Rahul Gandhi ever held a candle light march opposing the crimes on women in Bengaluru or any part of the state?
7. Why this appeasement politics by withdrawing 175 cases filed against 1500 SDPI and PFI activists and releasing them from the jail? 24 Sangha Parivar activists were murdered. Who will answer these questions? Since you are Siddaramaiah’s boss, you have to answer this question?
8.Why is there 81 percent shortage of trained surgical staff in government hospitals? Why is there a shortage of teachers in schools and more school dropout rate in Karnataka?
9. Why were there such differences between Congress government and union government in building infrastructure in the state? Why this sinned performance by Congress government in Karnataka?
10.You don’t trust the CJI, the Supreme Court of India, the Election Commission, EVMs, Aadhaar, the World Bank, the President of India, and the PMO. Do you trust Siddaramaiah government in Karnataka?”
