Mangaluru: The protest and walk-out by the Bharatiya Janata Party MLAs during the presentation of the State Budget is nothing but cheating the people”, said Dakshina Kannada District In-charge Minister U T Khader on Saturday, February 9.

Addressing the reporters at the District Congress office, Khader said, “If the BJP MLAs are not pleased with the fund allocated to their respective constituencies, they should have demanded for the same. Staging protest and walk-out from the session yields nothing”, he said.

Responding to a query on BJP MLA Umanth Kotian’s allegation that the government had refused to allocate funds to the constituencies represented by the BJP MLAs, Khader said, “If it is true, Kotian should have complained to the speaker. If the BJP MLAs of Sullia, Puttur, Bantwal and Beltangady are able to secure proper funds for the development works in their respective constituencies from the government, how come Kotian alone denied getting funds?” he questioned.

Replying to a query on H D Kumaraswamy’s two audio clips which claim that BJP State President B S Yeddyurappa was involved in ‘Operation Kamala’, Khader informed that as audio clip reference to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the union government should take it seriously and constitute a committee to probe into this”, he said.

MLC Hareesh Kumar, District Congress Spokesperson A C Vinayraj, District Youth Congress President Mithun Rai among others were present.
