Mangaluru: Former MLC Ivan D’Souza alleged that BJP is running a vaccine mafia.
Speaking to the reporters here on Saturday May 29, he said, “Vaccination centres see large crowds, with 500 people lining up for 100 vaccine doses. 70 coupons for 100 dosages are distributed, with the remaining 30 being kept by BJP MLAs and representatives. If 500 individuals gather, 430 will be sent back. These BJP representatives bring their family or individuals they know for vaccination after people leave vaccination centres. It has also come to notice that coupons are being sold at Rs 200 at Vamanjoor.
“Only 10% of the country’s population has received the vaccination. Even vaccination service fees at private hospitals have climbed from Rs 100 to Rs 200. Why are vaccines easily available at private hospitals but not in public ones? The BJP has turned vaccination efforts into a business, ” he alleged.
“We will carry out silent protest on Monday March 31 at Bejai school condemning this vaccine mafia,” he added.
