Mangaluru: A 21-year-old youth from Bhatkal, who was the first person from Dakshina Kannada district to be tested positive for COVID-19 has fully recovered and is all set to be discharged from the hospital today, April 6.
Dakshina Kannada District Health Officer (DHO) Ramachandra Bayari, in a press release informed that the Bhatkal youth was admitted to Wenlock Hospital on March 19 after he showed symptoms of the infection. He was the first COVID-19 positive case of the district.
The throat swabs of the person was sent for test on April 2 and 3 and the reports are negative.
Hence, he will be get discharged from the hospital on Monday, the press release said.
