Belthangady MLA launches Covid education campaign for Asha workers

Mangaluru: Belthangady MLA Harish Poonja on Wednesday, May 26 has launched the first phase of the Covid Education Campaign to provide information on how Asha workers can provide treatment for Corona affected.

This is the first such attempt in the state, and it was launched by the distribution of oximeter, pamphlets giving instructions on what steps Covid positive persons should follow and masks to all Asha workers under Ujire Panchayat level.

In cooperation with the Rotary Club of Belthangady, MLA will campaign across the taluk in all 48 gram panchayats. Local Rotary member doctors have already been appointed for the respective gram panchayats.

CA. Anantha Krishna Padvetnaya from Bengaluru, Rotary President Dhananjaya Rao, Secretary Sridhar K., Appointed Secretary Abubakar and mentor for Asha workers Harini were present.

The first training was done by Rotary member doctors Dr. Ashwini Udaya, Dr. Gopalakrishna Bhat Ujire and Dr. Pradeep Navoor. Rotary Appointedll Chairman Sharath Krishna Padvetnaya welcomed and gave an introductory address.

Speaking on the occasion, Poonja said “This is a new step in the state to free Corona. The campaign will be held throughout the next week. The affected will gain confidence about recovery as local doctors are involved in the campaign. This training will help Asha workers to face the challenges ahead boldly. We are grateful to the Rotary Club and the donors of oximeters, Poonja added.
