Mangaluru: “The students should be open to all the opportunities available in life and utilise them properly,” said Yusuf, Principal of Government Pre-University College, B Mooda and Secretary of Dakshina Kannada District PU Principals’ Association Secretary on Wednesday, December 12.
He was addressing a gathering after inaugurating the 52nd College Day celebration of St. Aloysius Evening Pre-University College at its auditorium, Loyola Hall. He said, “There are plenty of opportunities in life and the success lies in how we utilise them properly. Though we are able to receive various information through advanced technology, mere knowledge is not enough to improve our life. The knowledge acquired should be applied in our life and converted into experience. Then only we will be able to attain our goals”, he said.
Meanwhile, he opined that the students of evening college have more practical knowledge than students who are pursuing education in day college. “Evening college students are more aware about the difficulties in life which is very essential to face challenges”, he added.
St. Aloysius Institutions Rector Rev. Fr. Dionysius Vaz SJ, presiding over the programme, said, “There is a need to possess human values in life. Everybody wants satisfaction in life. But we should be aware that satisfaction lies in helping others”, he informed.
College Principal Rev. Fr. Melwin Mendonca SJ read out the annual report of the college. Coordinator Dr. Pradeep M, Finance Officer Rev. Fr. John Lang Bosco SJ and Convener Alwin D’Souza among others were present. Later, the cultural programmes by the students enthralled the audience.
