Mangaluru: Mangaluru North MLA Mohiuddin Bava’s new office building in Surathkal was inaugurated on December 18, and it has already become the centre of a new conspiracy. The new building, it seems, is yet to receive a completion certificate from the Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC).
Being a legislator, the MLA should have waited for the completion certificate before occupying the building, said a social activist.
The activist also accused the MLA’s wife, Nageena Mohiuddin Bava, of continuing the construction of the building without receiving an approval of the building’s plan.
The building, situated next to the MLA’s residence, was previously surveyed by the MUDA, who then asked for a deposit of Rs 6.7 lakh for the approval of the plan.
MLA Bava however, has said that the issue had been resolved stating that he had paid Rs 3 lakh to the authorities, adding that he had received both the license and the completion certificate for the building.
To the contrary, an official from the MCC has stated that the MLA has yet to file for a completion certificate.
