Moodbidri:Two of the accused in  the Siddantha Darshana Mandir burglary case have been granted bail by a Moodbidri Court on September 23, Monday.  The accused who are out on bail are Deeptimayi Mohanti, the wife of the prime accused Santosh Das alias Ghanashyam  and  his father-in-law Digambar Mohanty.

The two were granted bail  by the  court  taking cognizance of the aspect that the police had failed to charge sheet the accused even two months after their arrest.

The prime accused Santosh Das and Durg Jeweller Rajaji Santhathi  who too are arrested in this case  wherein antique idols worth several thousands of crores of rupees were stolen, are still behind bars.

Deeptimayi and Digambar Mohanty were arrested from their residence at Bhubaneshwar on July 13 while the main accused Santosh Das was arrested at Srikakulam in Andhra Pradesh.

The court had earlier rejected the  bail petition of Deeptimayi and Digambar following which their advocate had moved the District Court and State High Court. On September 18, their advocate had once again filed a bail petition, this time pointing out to the failure of the police to file the charge sheet against the two.
