Bantwal bids tearful farewell to Dr Ammembal Balappa

Bantwal: Veteran freedom fighter Dr. Ammembal Balappa who    passed away on May 15, Thursday was cremated  with full honour at the  Panemangalore Crematorium on May 17, Saturday afternoon.

Various officials of the district administration, Bantwal taluk administration, government departments as well as elected representatives and  his large bandwagon of well wishers were present.

The mortal remains of the departed freedom fighter were earlier  placed at the Samaja Seva Sahakari Bank premises   near Bantwal bye-pass for the people to pay their last respects. Several including SP Dr Sharanappa offered tributes to  Balappa. The mortal remains were later taken in a vehicle to his residence at Marnabailu.

 On behalf of the district administration, Dr Prashanth, Assistant commissioner of Mangalore had arrived while Bantwal administration was represented by Tahsildar Malleswami.

Several prominent persons including Bantwal Taluk Panchayat Executive Officer Cyprian Miranda, Block Education Officer Sheshashayana Karinja,   Jayananda Peraje, President of Bantwal taluk Sahitya Parishat and others were present.
