Bajrang Dal urges State Admin to Shut-down illegal Abattoirs

Mangalore : The newly-formed state government has intended to ratify Cow Slaughter Bill that has hurt the religious sentiments of majority of Hindus. The state administration is urged to take appropriate steps to preserve the cows and shut down all the illegal abattoirs across the state, urged Karnataka south regional convener B Manjunat Mandya.

Addressing the media persons here on Friday May 17, Manjunat said the state government has hurt the Hindus by ratifying Cow Slaughter Bill and also withdrawn the contributions to religious worship centers including mutts.  It’s because the government intended to please the minority community.  The state government had to give up anti-Hindu policies and enact Cow Slaughter Bill and also shut down all illegal abattoirs that are operating in across the state.  If it fails, Bajrang Dal will embark on a drive to forcibly shut down such illegal abattoirs, said Manjunat.

A municipal abattoir located at Kudroli, here slaughters about 10 -12 cows daily, which is insufficient to supply beef to about 250 stalls in across Dakshina Kannada district. Therefore, its certain that illegal abattoirs are operating that has to be shut down, urged Manjunat.

When the media persons queried what to do with old cows?  Manjunat said that cow shelters are opened by Hindu organizations and Bajrang Dal activists will make necessary arrangement to transport them if they are informed.

Bajrang Dal Mangalore division convener Sharan Pumpwell said Mangalore south newly-elected MLA has been talking about taking action on moral policing, while Bajrang Dal will not take law into their hands, and will not tolerate any action on their activists by law enforcement agencies in this regard, said Sharan.

Vishwa Hindu Parishat (VHP) president Jagdish Shenava, Bajrang Dal Dakshina Kannada district convener Bhujanga Kulal, Pradeep Pumpwell were present at the press meet.
