Kasaragod: A police team from Kasaragod succeeded in nabbing two brothers accused in the murder of a Bagalkot resident at Cherkala three months ago.
The police team headed by Superintendent of Police K G Simon apprehended Vittala (30) and his brother Akkundappa (30 ), both residents of Soreban village in Belagavi district.
The duo had killed an acquaintance named Rangappa Gaji (34) in August and the decayed body was found by the police at an isolated location near the national highway on August 9.
The identity of the deceased was known from the ID card available at the crime spot. The autopsy of the deceased was performed later at Periyaram Medical College Hospital.
Initially the case was registered as unnatural death but subsequently based on the post mortem report and other circumstantial evidence, it turned out to be murder.
Police managed to gather large boulders and liquor bottles from the crime spot subsequently.
Finally, they arrested the duo in Belagavi recently and brought them to Kasaragod to conduct further investigations.
