Babri Masjid demolition: Prohibitory orders under KP Act imposed in M’luru

Mangaluru: City Police Commissionerate and the District Magistrate have imposed prohibitory orders in the City under the Karnataka Police Act, section 35 on Wednesday, December 6 from 6 am to mid night.

Babri Masjid was demolition on December 6, 1992 and in wake of the 25 years of this incident, it is learnt that Hindu outfits are celebrating ‘Vijayothsava’ while some Muslim organisations have called for a ‘Black Day’.

It is also learnt that protest rallies have been planned by PFI and SDPI in Surathkal Junction, Thokkottu Junction, Ullal and Bajpe areas while Hindu outfits have organised celebrations in many locations. Since there are possibilities of these events disturbing harmony in the region, the authorities have slammed prohibitory orders under which processions, rallies, dharnas, rasta roko, other forms of protests and celebrations in this connection will not be allowed in the city commissionerate limits, informed a release.
