Kasargod: Incidents of stone pelting have been reported from Uppala and Kumbal areas here and the episodes have been linked to the demolition of Babri Masjid on Dec 6, 1992.
Miscreants pelted stones at a private bus that was plying from Talapady to Anekallu via Hosangadi. However, no passengers were injured.
Similarly, a lorry plying from Hidayathnagar in Uppala to Mangaluru was targeted by the miscreants on Wednesday morning. Some bike-born miscreants pelted stones at a KSRTC bus (Karnataka) due to which the windows and front windshield of the bus was damaged.
Following these incidents buses on Uppala-Bayar have gone off road. Vehicles are on lower side on roads and the local police have beefed up security to avert untoward incidents.
