Mangaluru: The construction of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir will be taken up as soon as possible, said Sri Kshethra Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Dr D Veerendra Heggade.
He was addressing the gathering during the ‘Samyukta Baitak’ (convention) of the Vishwa Hindu Parishath Kendriya Vishwastha Mandali and Prabhanda Samiti, at Sanghaniketan, on Friday, December 27.
Dr Heggade said that the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya will shape up as a focal point of Hindu faith.
Meanwhile, Pejawar junior seer Sri Vishwaprasanna Thirtha, lauding the service of the Vishwa Hindu Parishath said that the uplift of the economically backward classes, rural development programmes, and several other factors have led to dip in religious conversion rate in Karnataka.
Later, addressing a news conference, VHP National Joint General Secretary Surendra Kumar Jain said that the Baitak took up three major issues for discussion and they were- the facilities provided to schools run by the minorities, under the Article 29 and 30 must be extended to all; Special facilities provided to minority religious heads in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh is unconstitutional and hence this calls for a campaign and steps needed to curb the cases of atrocities on women.
VHP President Vishnu Sadashiva Kokaje, Working President Alok Kumar, leaders Prof MB Puranik, Jagadish Shenava among others were present.
