Bantwal: The Bajrang Dal, that is widely associated with cow vigilantism has denied having any connection with arrested cattle trafficker who, reports suggest is a Bajrang Dal activist.
Shashikumar, 48, a Vittal resident, said to be an activist of the Bajrang Dal was among the two arrested for trafficking cattle, worth more than Rs 5 lacs in an inhumane way on Thursday, July 26 from near Kadambu. The other arrested Abdul Haris(21), a resident of Mannagadde Kathathila in Kolnadu village faces several cases at Konaje police station.
Acting on credible information, Vittal Police Station Deputy Inspector Nagaraj H.E. and staff Abhijit, Lokesh, Ramesh, Rakshath and driver Raghuram intercepted the tempo ferrying the cattle at Kadambu on Thursday night.
Speaking to NewsKarnataka, Murali Krishna Hasanthadka Bajrang Dal Pranth Sahasanchalak (co-convenor) said that any person sporting a saffron shawl cannot be affiliated with the party. He flatly denied reports that suggested Shashikumar as a Bajrang Dal Activist.
