Mangaluru: Alva’s College, Department of PG and UG studies in Journalism and Mass Communication, Moodabidri will be celebrating Alva’s Media Buzz-2020 on February 28 and 29, at the Kuvempu Auditorium, UG Block.
Interntional conference on Media and Climate Action and media fest will be organised under the Media Buzz event, which willbe inaugurated by Director General of Income Tax (Investigations) Narottam Mishra at 10 am on February 28.
Keynote address will be delivered by Dr P G Diwakar, ISRO Scientist and Director of Earth Observation Applications and Disaster Management. Udupi Power Corporation Limited President and Executive Director Kishore Alva will be the Guest of honour while Alva’s Eduction Foundation Trustee Vivek Alva will preside.
A panel discussion on ‘Community challenges in climate action’ will be held, in which Zilla Panchayat CEO Dr Selvamani, College of Fisheries Professor Dr Shivakumar Magada, independent journalist Mohit M Rao, Envigreen Biotech India Private limited Founder Ashwath Hegde will be the resourcepersons. Prof DS Poornananda from Kuvempu University, shivamogga will moderate.
On Day-2, ‘Suman’: Tsunami’s Daughter, a documentary will be released by Organ Donation India Foundation Chairman Lal Goel.
Mangalore University Prof PS Yedapadithaya will be the chief guest. Alva’s Education Foundation Trustee Dr Vinay Alva will preside.
Documentary screening and interaction will be held at 10.30 am.
Valedictory ceremony will be held at 3.30 pm. Jayaprakash Shetty, Editor-Current Affairs, Suvarna News 24×7 and Aasare Trust Chairperson Dr Ashjyoti Rai will be the chief guests.
