Mangaluru: The Moodbidri Police have arrested three wardens from the Alva’s Boys’ Hostel for allegedly assaulting students who rejoiced completion of PUC examinations on March 17. However, the arrested persons were soon released on bail.

The arrested wardens are Khader K, Rajesh and Nagesh. They have been arrested as per the complaint filed by a student named Prajwal Rao.

It is said that the students had resorted to shouting, pelting stones and also bursting crackers inside the hostel premises after their examinations were over. When the authorities asked them to behave, the students were not in the mood to listen and the wardens resorted to beating them up to tame them. Sources say that at least 20 students were beaten. The college management had earlier clarified that the matter had been sorted out amicably.
