Mangaluru: In a shocking incident at Punjalkatte, Belthangady here, a father killed his son and later died by hanging himself.
The father has been identified as Babu Naika (58) from near Bhajana Mandir close to Punjalkatte Government Hospital and his son Sathwik (15). Naika killed his son hitting him with a sickle.
It is said that Babu Naik and was an alcoholic and recently was always at loggerheads with his son. Naika’s wife works in a cashew factory and the incident happened when she was away at work.
Zilla Panchayat Member M Tungappa visited the spot and has asked the authorities concerned to take up the matter. Sub-inspector of Punjalkatte Police Station has registered a case and taken up the investigation.
