Active Rotarian Divakar Amin passes away at 74

Mangaluru: Past Assistant Governor of RI District 3181 and active Rotarian Divakar Amin passed away today morning, after a brief illness. He was 74.

After completing his education at Cascia School and Government College Mangaluru, he moved abroad in search of a better career and stayed there till his retirement.

After his retirement, he settled down with his family in Pandeshwar, Mangaluru, and joined the Rotary Club Mangalore South to get involved in social activities. Soon, he actively held various positions in the club, was its president and even became the Assistant Governor Zone 3 for the year 2018-19.

An ardent cricket lover, he was instrumental in organising the Zonal Premier League cricket tournament for Rotarians of Zone 2 and 3. Till his death, he was serving as the District Sports Committee Chairman.

A friendly human and a disciplined leader, he was also a member of the Cascia School Alumni Association, Mangaladevi Seva Samithi, Billavara Association Mangaladevi and other pious organisations.

He is survived by his wife and two daughters.

District Governor Rtn Ranganath Bhat and Rotarians across RI District 3181 have condoled the sudden demise of this talented Rotarian.
