Cultural festival Alvas Nudisiri-2014 concludes

Moodbidri: The three day cultural extravaganza, Alvas Nudisiri-2014 concluded here on Sunday. 11 achievers who have contributed to the local culture were felicitated.

Dr Siddalingaiah presided over the function. Dr Sangamesh Savadattimatha, Prof Vasantha Kushtagi, Prof H S Shivprakash, Prof Shettar, Dr Malathi Pattanashetty, T S Nagabharana, Prof Heranje Krishna Bhatta, Mantapa Prabhakar Upadhya, Dr Vasundhara Doreyswamy, Ashwathpura Baburaya Acharya, Banandur Kempaiah were felicitated with cash prize of Rs 10,000 each.

Alvas director Dr Mohan Alva after welcoming the guests said that every Kannadiga should promote Kannada region.

Vidhan Parishad member Cap Ganesh Karnik, Alvas trustee Ex MLA K Amarnath Shetty, Jayashree Amarnath Shetty were present. Journalist Manohar Prasad compered the programme and Kidiyur Venugopal Shetty rendered vote of thanks.

Manikantha,  a student of Jnana Sindhu Blind Kids school introduced the chief guest Dr. Siddalingaiah. He hails from Hanumasagara in Badami Taluk. Even though he is blind, it has not stopped him from scaling the heights of achievement in different fields. He has learnt Yoga and has performed at the World Health Programme in 2012. He has also performed during national festivals and rligious festivals across the state. He has also performed unique programe in 2013, during Horanada Kannadigara Sammelan. His teacher Shivananda Kelur praised his special student.

This special boy introduced Dr Siddalingaiah to the gathering during Alvas Nudisiri, the special privilege being given to him by Dr Mohan Alva. The introduction of Dr Siddalingaiah was about 6 to 7 pages which was taught in Braille Lipi by his teacher Kasthuri Rajappa and later he read it at Rathnakar Varni Stage.

Alvas Beary language Siri

Along with Kannada, this year Dr Mohan Alva promoted Beary language and appreciated the contribution by the beary writers. State health minister U T Khader appreciated the move of Alvas management to promote regional languages during Alvas Nudisiri.The Beary Language siri was inaugurated on Sunday morning by minister and he also opined that we can achieve communal harmony by organising such cultural programmes.

The programme was presided over by Ex education minister B A Moidin. MLA B A Moidin Bava, retired police officer G A Bava, Nadoja Dr Siddalingaiah, Rahim Uchil from Beary Sahitya Academy, Abdul Rauf Puttige, Haji Haider Parthyppady, Moosabba Jokatte, Basheer Baikampady and others were present.

Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy president B A Mohammad Haneef welcomed the gathering. Singer Sharif Nirmunje. Registrar of the academy Umar Abba rendered vote of thanks. Academy member Abdul Hameed Goltha Majalu compered the programme.

Harekala Hajabba,Hasanabba Charmady, Khalid Tannirbavi, Rahim B C Road, Prof B M Ichilangod, Fakruddin Iruvailu, Ibrahim Tannirbavi, Dr Gardady Paddandadka, Jamaluddin Moodbidri, M H Shareef and Riyaz Kannur who have contributed to the Beary community in various fields were felicitated.

Later many cultural programme were organised by the academy as well as from various parts of the district.
