Mangaluru: A total of 21 persons from the Dakshina Kannada district attended Tablighi Jamaat event held at the Nizamuddin mosque in New Delhi recently. The district administration has traced all of them and placed them under observation.
After noticing that several people from the Dakshina Kannada district had attended the event in New Delhi, Deputy Commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh asked the people to approach the officials of the health department.
Later, the health department traced all the 21 persons who had attended the event and placed them under observation. Their throat swabs have been sent for testing.
It can be noted that thousands of people from different parts of the country attended the religious event at the Nizamuddin mosque in New Delhi. More than hundred of the attendees have tested positive for COVID-19.
It can be also noted that Delhi Chief Minister Aravind Kejrival filed an FIR against the Markaz Nizamuddin mosque administration for negligence.
