Mangaluru: In a tragic incident, an 18-year-old boy committed suicide in his house located at Darbar Hill near Padil on Sunday, October 6, evening.
The deceased has been identified as Shawn Patrao, a first-year B.Sc student of St Aloysius College. He is the son of Ronson Patrao and Olivia Patrao. He also has a younger sister who is studying in the seventh standard.
Police believe that Shawn took the extreme step due to depression.
Sources in the Kankanady Town police station said that Shawn was in depression for the past few days. He hanged himself from a ceiling fan in his house when his parents and sister went out to attend Sunday Mass at the church.
A case has been registered by the Kankanady Town police in this regard and an investigation is underway.
