Mangaluru: At present 13000 doses of anti-Covid vaccines are available in Dakshina Kannada district, said DC Rajendra KV in the online press meet held on the google meet platform on Friday June 4.
He stressed that only online mode registration is allowed to avoid confusion on the spot. if vials left out for the day, they will be used for frontline warriors as per government guidelines. “An average of 35000 people have received single-dose and 20000 have received the second dose of vaccine,” he informed.
He said that the second dose of covaxin is available in every taluk general hospital of the district. 75 percent of vaccination will be given to those who have registered online and 25 percent of vaccination will be given on the spot for the specially-abled people and the people aged above 70 years.
“For frontline workers in the age group of 18 and 44, the vaccination is available at Wenlock Hospital. Even the arrangements are made to vaccinate frontline workers in their offices too, he added.
Lactating mothers also can take the vaccination. Only pregnant women are not recommended to take the vaccination. Information of the bedridden people will be collected by the local PSU medical office and a mobile vaccination van will be arranged to reach them at their home, he informed.
