Mangaluru: A total of 10 services including payment of water bills and property tax will be made online by the Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) soon.
Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) Mayor Bhaskar K, addressing the reporters at Circuit House on Wednesday, February 13 said, “As there was a huge demand for online payment of property taxes, water bills among others, necessary arrangements have been made already. People can make online payments using either credit card or debit card”, he informed.
“Though we have scheduled the inauguration of these services on February 18, it has not been finalised yet. We are also planning to give more such services in the future, through online”, informed MCC Commissioner Mohammed Nazeer.
Meanwhile, the Mayor after releasing the list of several developmental works undertaken during the last five years in MCC limits said a total of 11,688 developmental works had been undertaken at a total cost of Rs 403.5 Crore.
Informing about the works taken up under drinking water projects Bhaskar said, “Measures have already been taken to maintain water at 6 metre at Thumbay vented dam. A total of five families whose lands were submerged due to the increase in the height of the dam, were provided proper compensation. Compensation is yet to be provided to around 65 families due to some technical issues.”
Deputy Mayor Mohammed K, MCC Chief Whip Shashidhar Hegde, Standing Committee members Praveenchandra Alva, Naveen D’Souza, Radhakrishna, Ashok D K among others were present.
