Pandavapura (Mandya): “I never dreamt of becoming the chief minister of the state but did deliver when an opportunity was given by abolishing arrack and lottery in the state mainly to rescue women in distress, during my 20-month tenure. If voted to power, I will take the government to the doorsteps of people”, assured former chief minister and Janata Dal (Secular) chief H D Kumaraswamy.
Addressing a party convention, “Kumara Parva” here on February 8, HDK said it would not be possible to understand the woes of the people sitting on the 3rd floor of the Vidhana Soudha, the state power centre and hence would take the government to the doorsteps of the people to solve their problems.
“I never came into politics to amass wealth and will introduce pro-poor and pro-farmer programmes. Experts and officials will be taken to Israel to adopt the best farming and technologies in vogue to develop the state,” HDK said.
Modi is keen on making India Congress free and both the national parties are busy trading charges against each other forgetting the real problems of people, and this had led to the increase in their suffering, HDK stated.
He reassured of waiving farm loans within 24 hours of assuming power and committed to work for the welfare of the poor and farmers till the last breath of his life.
