Mandya: A little over a week ago on November 25, 30 persons died in the Kanaganamaradi village under the Pandavapura police limits when a private bus plunged into the Visvesvaraya canal. On Sunday, December 2 night, three persons drowned in the same canal when the scooter on which they plying fell into the canal.
The incident occurred in the Lokasara village, under the Mandya rural police limits.
According to the police, the deceased have been identified as Nagamma (50), Ambika (30) and Manyatha (6). All are from the same family.
The bodies were recovered from the canal with the help of torch lights on Sunday night itself and sent to MIMS hospital for postmortem. The cause of the accident is not known.
