Mandya: The cold war between the independent candidate Sumalatha Ambareesh from Mandya Lok Sabha constituency and the Janata Dal (S) leaders continued here on Saturday, March 23.
Speaking to media, District In-charge Minister C S Puttraju said that it was not possible to contest the election by using prominent names. He was refering to Sumalatha using the support and names of Sandalwood actors Yash, Darshan and also her husband actor/politician Late Ambareesh.
Reacting to stone pelting on JDS candidate Nikhil Kumaraswamy’s car during the road show he said, “We are not afraid of those who pelt stones in the dark. It is not possible to cause any problem to our party.”
“Whosoever it may be, do not stoop to such a low level as it will bring a bad name to the district. Such people will be taught a proper lesson by the people in the election”, he added.
Meanwhile, he also criticised the stone pelting on Darshan’s residence as well and said it was unethical to commit such an act.
