Mandya: A freak accident claimed the life of a retired IAS officer while he was engaged in farming activity on his land at Byadarahalli in Pandavapura taluk here on Thursday, July 12.
The deceased S N Nagaraj, aged 62 years was reportedly operating the tractor on his land when it suddenly toppled trapping the former officer underneath it. Nagaraj is said to have died on the spot.
The former officer was serving as the deputy commissioner of Raichur at the time of his retirement in 2016. Earlier he had been deputed as the ZP secretary of Mandya Zilla Panchayat and Special DC of Bengaluru city.
He is survived by his wife and two children.
