Mandya: The engine of a private bus caught fire and within minutes the entire bus was in flames here in the early hours of Saturday, April 13. Fortunately, all the passengers in the bus escaped unhurt.
The bus which was en route from Wayanad, Kerala to Bengaluru caught fire in the engine near Ganangooru in Srirangapatna. The driver who noticed the fire, immediately stopped the bus and asked the passengers to get out of the vehicle. As many as 20 lives have been saved due to the quick response of the driver.
The bus is completely burnt down and most of the luggage of the passengers are reduced to ashes.
The fire department rushed to the spot. A case has been registered at Srirangapatna rural police station.
