Mandya: Nikhil Kumaraswamy, son of Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy and MLA Anita Kumaraswamy, turned farmer for a few minutes on Saturday, March 30, in Mandya. While campaigning near Maddur for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, in which he is contesting from the Mandya LS constituency, he transplanted a few paddies.
As part of his campaign, Nikhil was in the Ataguru village of the Maddur taluk on Saturday morning. While he was travelling in his campaign vehicle, he saw the paddy field of a local farmer, Ramanna, where paddy was being transplanted. He immediately alighted from his vehicle and transplanted a few paddies.
It can be recalled that, in July of 2018, his father CM HDK also transplanted paddies in a village in the Pandavapura taluk.
Nikhil, the Congress-JDS alliance candidate will be facing off against independent candidate, Sumalatha Ambareesh, who is being backed by the BJP, in the Mandya LS constituency.
