Maddoor : A team of health officials has visited Kuntanahalli in Maddoor taluk following reports that several villagers are suffering from a mysterious disease. The medical team examined the patients who are suffering from head ache, high fever and joint pain.
According to reports, over 25 villagers are suffering from the problem. The medical team included Dr Niranjan, Taluk Medical Officer, B Shivanand, Health Education Officer and others.
The villagers complained to the medical team that the gram panchayat was not cleaning the water tank and that none of the members visited the village to know their problem.
The disease was fast spreading and there are many families whose all members are suffering, they explained and added treatment with local doctors has been of no avail.
Dr Niranjan suggested shifting of Shilpa, a little girl, and Chennamma an old lady who were very weak, to the Besaragalli Primary Health Centre.
He has also instructed his team members to camp in the village and provide treatment to the villagers.
Earlier Junior Health Assistants Sharada, Hanumantharayyappa and ASHA worker Leelavathi made a door-to-door visit and collected blood samples of the patients.
