Mandya: Several Muslim organisations held a protest against Hindu Mahasabha president Kamalesh Tiwari for his controversial comment against Prophet Mohammad.
Hundreds of muslims gathered near the deputy commissioner’s office responding to a protest call given by Mandya Muslim Okkoota on Wednesday.
The agitators alleged that the Pro-hindu leader had hurt the sentiments of the people by making derogatory comments against the prophet.
Zabiulla Khan, convenor of the Mandya Muslim Okkoota said that leaders like Tiwari are trying to disrupt peace in the society by making such comments and few -pro-hindu organisations are attempting to prpject Muslims as terriorists which is codemnable, he said.
SDPI state unit president Tahir said that few BJP leaders are trying to convert India a Hindu nation by instilling communal discord, which affects common people. Government need to look into these issues and action must be taken, he said.
Earlier thousands of protesters took out a rally which culminated at DCs office.
