Mandya: Authorities and media personnel who were trying to avert a child marrige at Shikaripura village in Nagamangala Taluk district had to face the wrath of the locals who gheraoed and even asssulted them.
As per reports the officials who arrived at the village after receiving information about a child marriage were confronted by the locals who denied any instance of a child marriage taking place at the spot. Since few media persons were filming the incident, the locals assaulted them and even snatched the mobile phones from a few of them.
The Nagamangala police visited the spot and a case has been registered.
