Mandya: The Bengaluru-Mysuru vehicle movement was disrupted following a tense situation that prevailed in Mandya, where a JDS leader, a close associate of CM HD Kumaraswamy was brutally murdered on Monday evening.
Senior police officers rushed to the district and additional police forces were moved in from neighboring districts.

He throat was slit by his killers when he was taking rest inside the SUV by parking it near TB circle. He is the resident of the Honnalagere village in Maddur taluk.
As the news spread villagers from Toppanahalli, Honnalagere and surrounding villages thronged to Maddur town and started to torch vehicles and public properties. They vandalised the government taluk hospital, blocked the vehicular traffic, forcing Mandya and Ramanagara district police to divert the vehicles to other routes.
MP LR Shivaramegowda sat on a dharna on Mysuru- Bengaluru road causing chaos. Police dispersed the mob with mild lathicharge.
According to the sources, exactly two years ago (December 25, 2016) two JD(S) workers were hacked to death in broad daylight. A few weeks ago, another person from the same village was found murdered. “The political rivalry must be the reason behind the murder,” suspected police.
