Mandya: Chief minister Siddaramaiah has reportedly summoned actor-turned-politician Ramya after Mandya MLC Congress candidate L R Shivarame Gowda complained to CM about her non-involvement in the election campaign.
Party sources said that Ramya met Siddaramaiah at his home office a day before the elections. During the meeting CM has reportedly summoned the former MP for not campaigning for the MLC candidate.
However, Ramya denied the allegations and stated that the party should be pulling up Gowda, instead of her. She contended that Gowda had openly proclaimed that he had opposed her candidature during the previous MP elections and was thereby instrumental in orchestrating her defeat. The party had however failed to initiate disciplinary action against him.
Sources said that Siddaramaiah on his part advised Ramya to cooperate with the local leaders and reportedly told her that such internal differences were common in politics.
Ramya had campaigned for Gowda along with Siddaramaiah and Energy Minister D K Shivakumar recently.
