Mandya: The high voltage Mandya Lok Sabha constituency is for sure creating curiosity among the political pandits and people of the state. Amid this comes an intelligence report based on winning chances between the coalition candidate of Congress and Janata Dal (S), Nikhil Kumaraswamy and independent candidate Sumalatha Ambareesh, here on Sunday, May 12.
According to the intelligence report that was submitted to Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, there are all chances of Sumalatha gaining major lead against Nikhil.
In places like Maddur, Malavalli, Mandya, Srirangapatna and K R Nagar, Sumalatha has taken a lead, whereas Nikhil is in lead at K R Pete, Melukote and Nagamangala.
According to the coalition sources, the report has failed in providing exact picture in terms of women and youth vote share for the two candidates, but has said that it would be a tough call for CM HDK as the Mandya district Bharatiya Janata Party, Raitha Sangha and few rebels from the JDS have gone in support of Sumalatha.
Earlier too the JDS interim report had predicted Nikhil Kumaraswamy facing defeat against Sumalatha.
