Mandya: The well wishers of Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer and Janata Dal (S) party member, Lakshmi Ashwin Gowda accused the party leaders of betraying her with a false promise of giving a ticket from the party, here on Tuesday, March 26.

They have alleged that the JDS party leaders had ditched her similarly in the 2018 Assembly election, Lok Sabha by-election and now in 2019 Lok Sabha election.

Her supporters have also gone ahead and posted the same on social media.

Sources close to Lakshmi have expressed disgruntlement over Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy’s statement at a JDS conference that he would speak with the Central government and help her get back the job she had quit.

He had also said that Lakshmi’s husband Ashwin Gowda was working under him at his office.

The sources close to her said that they were upset because CM HDK was ignoring a party worker who had left her government job to work for JDS.

Vinay, a well wisher of Lakshmi said that she had not left the job to rejoin but to work for the party sincerely.

“After she was denied a ticket to contest in the Lok Sabha elections from Mandya constituency, none of the leaders including CM HDK have approached to console her. CM HDK has not given a job to her husband Ashwin Gowda. He achieved it with his hard work and determination. Lakshmi is deeply hurt by the way she is treated”, added Vinay.

Meanwhile, on questions of whether she would participate in the campaign for JDS candidate Nikhil Kumaraswamy, she said that she would not support the campaign as she was hurt by the party’s decision and refused to talk further on this.
