Mandya: Barely 12 hours after Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy threatened a dharna against any kind of Income Tax (IT) raids on party leaders from South Karnataka, IT authorities carried out a search operation across the Mysuru, Mandya and Hassan districts. The targets of the raid were JDS leaders and the officers close to them.
The raids started at 5.30 AM on Thursday, March 28. IT officers, with security provided by the CRPF, raided the houses of Mandya district in-charge minister C S Puttaraju, his relative in Vijayanagar, Mysuru and three officers close to PWD minister H D Revanna in Hassan.
Confirming the raids, C S Puttaraju stated that he can show proof of revenue of even as little as Rs 10. “I have been a businessman for the last 35 years,” he said.
Sarcastically thanking Prime Minister Modi for the raids, he stated that he will not back out. “We will face the BJP,” he added.
