Mandya: A pack of dogs attacked and bit a girl while she was on the way to her farm in Ragimuddenahalli village on Thursday, May 9 in Mandya district.
The dogs belonged to a stone crushing site near her farm.
The girl attacked by the dogs is Harshitha (12), daughter of Brahmalingachari and Rathna.
Harshitha was walking towards her farm at 8.30 in the morning when she was attacked by the dogs.
When people nearby heard Harshita's screams, they rushed to the spot and chased the dogs away. They immediately took her to MIMS in Mandya and treated her wounds.
The incident has scared the Ragimuddenahalli village residents.
The villagers were complaining that so far they had been putting up with the stone crushers with great difficulty and now their dogs were not letting them go near their fields. The villagers lamented that no one paid attention to their plight.
The villagers warned of a protest if the district administration failed to close the illegal quarry in their village and save the people from the attacks of their dogs.
