Flesh trade in daba: 22 arrested, 7 women rescued

Mandya: District police superintendent led team raided a daba at Naguvanahalli Gate and arrested 22 persons involved in flesh trade and rescued seven women.

Following credible information from Odanadi organisation SP G Radhika led team raided the daba in Naguvanahalli on August 19. Along with 22 people involved in flesh trade, 5 bikes, car and auto rikshaws have been seized.

During the raid, it was revealed that inside the daba underground room was built where the women were kept under illegal confinement. In 2008, police had raided the same daba and rescued women from Kolkata, Mumbai and Bangaladesh. Even after the raid, daba owner had continued the illlegal business, said G Radhika.

Srirangapatna police have registered a case in this regard and have taken necessary action.
