Mandya: The Ajjahalli village in Maddur witnessed tense moments on Friday, April 12 night after a group of JDS activists allegedly assaulted a farmer for raising objections when Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy was delivering a speech.
According to sources, the farmer raised his objection when CM HDK said that his government is pro-farmers. The man alleged that farmers haven’t received sugar cane arrears, support price for paddy etc. Irked by this, the JDS activists present at the spot allegedly assaulted the farmer.
Condemning the assault, the villagers started a flash protest. It was later withdrawn when police intervened.
