Mandya: The local police have arrested a Congress leader in Mandya after he reportedly abused few party leaders over phone.
Kebballi Anand, Minister Ambareesh’s confidante had pressurised the latter to get a ticket for his wife from the Holalu constituency.
But as another local leader Madegowda was not given a ticket last time, the ZP ticket was given to his wife. Enraged over these developments, Anand had publicly lashed out at Ambareesh. He then fielded his wife as an independent candidate.
On Tuesday, his wife lost in the polls leading him to abuse former MLA H B Ramu, KPCC member C D Gangadhar and another leader Chandru over a phone call.
Based on a complaint filed by Ramu and others, Anand was arrested by the police.
