Melukote: After swearing-in as the 31st Chief Minister of Karnataka on Friday, July 26, CM B S Yediyurappa visited Melukote Cheluvanrayanaswamy Temple and his home deity Siddalingeshwara of Gavi Mutt at his birthplace Bukanakere, here on Saturday, July 27.
Amid the beefed up security, CM BSY visited both the temples and spent sometime in the sanctum.
As he made his way to temple premises amid huge gathering of his fans and party workers, a helpless widow rushed towards him to express her grief. But, due to protocol the security personnel did not allow the woman to meet him and she was observed sitting outside the temple premises.
As CM BSY’s son and Member of Parliament B Y Raghavendra observed this, he immediately went near her and asked about her problems. In the meantime, he also brought CM BSY along with him and gave her a patient hearing.
The helpless widow said, “I’ve a son named Prakash, who is affected by polio. He is bed-ridden from a long time and it has been difficult to lead a life. In the year 2013, my son who was supposed to receive Rs 1000 under the specially abled scheme, received only Rs 500. None of the official came to my rescue until 2017. After a fresh order was passed in the year 2017, he began receiving Rs 1000.”
She urged the CM to release the due amount which was not released between 2013-17.
Immediately responding to her situation, CM BSY assured of directing the deputy commissioner of Mandya district to release the said amount.
Meanwhile, he accepted all the applications from farmers regarding irrigation and other agricultural activities and has assured people of pro-people and a stable government.
During his Melukote visit, clashes between the Circle Inspector Ramesh and BJP party workers took place.
