Mysuru: The ashes of actor-politician Late Ambareesh was immersed in the River Kaveri in Srirangapatna, according to the Hindu traditions, by his son Abhishek Gowda, on Wednesday, November 28.
Ambareesh’s wife Sumalatha, actors, producers and directors from the Sandalwood fraternity and the family members were present.
Abhishek Gowda who arrived with his family and close associates at around 2 PM at the Sangam where the four rivers namely North Kaveri, Lokapavani, East Kaveri and Guptagamini converged.
According to the rituals, Abhishek, then offered milk, curds, honey, sugar and tender coconut water Abhishekam, Rudra Abhishekam, and offered Pooja to the ashes.
The responsibility of the rituals was carried out by the team of prominent astrologer Dr. Bhanu Prakash Sharma.
While the ashes were brought to Srirangapatna, Ambareesh fans had gathered along the roadside of Bengaluru-Mysuru highway, offering their respect.
As a security measure, barricades were put up in place along with tight security by the police.
The security measures were implemented under the supervision of Superintendent of Police of Mandya, D Shiva Prakash Devaraju , ASP Balaramegowda and DySP Ravindra.
Over 100 police personnel were deployed for the smooth conduction of the rituals.
District In-charge Minister C S Puttaraju, MLC Sandesh Nagaraj, producer Rockline Venkatesh and others were present.
